No Label Presents: Criminal Justice Reform with IDK
Artist IDK, short for Ignorantly Delivering Knowledge, will join students, aspiring musicians, and creatives to give a talk at Harvard about criminal justice reform on Friday, February 28th at 5:00pm.
IDK will explore his experience with the criminal justice system in an effort to shed light on the millions of Black bodies incarcerated byan unjust system every year. At the age of 17 IDK was incarcerated and tried as an adult. His experience in prison inspired him to become an artist, and when he steppedo ut of prison he vowed that he would never return. Since then, heh as released multiple critically acclaimed projects. IDK's talk at harvard will explore the lessons he learned in prison and how he thinks the criminal justice system should treat Black and brown bodies more fairly. The conversation will also take a deep dive into his lyrically coded and rich music, and how artists can successfully navigate the industry.
